Warranty & Product Condition
Last updated: 27 August 2026
Every product is listed with its true condition — new, one-trip, used or refurbished — and its real specifications. A container bought sight-unseen has to arrive as described, and this page explains exactly what that promise covers: how condition is graded, what we put right, how claims work, and the consumer-law guarantees that sit underneath all of it.
Condition disclosure
Condition grading is stated on each product page, alongside photographs prepared honestly for the product line or unit. Used and refurbished units are sold as honestly described; normal cosmetic wear consistent with the stated grade (surface marks, dents, repainting) is not a defect — it is the reason a used unit costs less than a new one. Where a detail matters to your purchase — a dent-free wall for signage, a particular floor condition — ask before ordering and we will confirm it for the specific unit.
What the grades mean
- New / One-Trip — manufactured recently and shipped with a single cargo voyage from the factory. Effectively new condition; minor handling marks from that one voyage are possible.
- Refurbished — a used unit brought back to sound presentable condition: inspected, repaired where needed and typically repainted. Expect a clean, serviceable unit whose history shows only on close inspection.
- Used — a serviceable ex-service unit. Structurally sound, doors operable and sealed, with the cosmetic wear of a working life: surface rust patches, dents and faded or patched paint consistent with its listing.
Across all grades, a unit sold for storage or conversion is supplied structurally sound with operable doors and a weather-resistant shell as described on its listing.
What our warranty covers
Our commitment is that the unit you receive:
- matches the product description, specifications and stated condition grade it was sold under;
- is structurally sound and fit for the ordinary purpose of that product type;
- arrives with doors, locks and (where fitted) windows, hatches and fittings in working order;
- is free of undisclosed defects beyond the cosmetic wear proper to its grade.
If any of that is not true on arrival, it is our problem to fix — see the claims process below. These commitments operate alongside, and never instead of, your statutory guarantees.
What is not covered
- Customer modifications — cutting, welding, drilling or fit-outs performed after delivery, and any consequence of them.
- Misuse — overloading, dragging a unit across ground, stacking outside design limits, or use outside the product’s ordinary purpose.
- Improper placement — units set on soft, unlevel or unsupported ground can twist, which affects door operation and drainage; placement is the customer’s responsibility.
- Environmental factors after delivery — accelerated corrosion from salt spray or chemical exposure, storm or impact damage, and other events at your site.
- Normal ageing — the gradual weathering any steel product shows over years outdoors.
Customer responsibilities
A little care preserves both the unit and your cover:
- place the unit on firm, level supports (railway sleepers, concrete blocks or a slab) with drainage away from it;
- keep door seals and hinges clear of debris and occasionally lubricated;
- report any concern promptly rather than working around it;
- retain your invoice and delivery documentation — they are the claim record.
Inspection on delivery
Inspect your unit at delivery where practical, and within a reasonable period afterwards. Note any visible transport damage on the delivery documentation and photograph it before use — a claim supported by delivery photos is usually resolved in days. Damage found later is still claimable within your rights; it simply takes a little longer to establish when it occurred.
Claims process
- Contact us with your order number, a description of the issue and clear photographs.
- Our team assesses the claim and responds with the proposed resolution — most assessments are made from photographs without moving the unit.
- Agreed resolutions may include repair, replacement, exchange or refund — consistent with our returns policy and your consumer rights.
- We confirm the outcome in writing and coordinate any transport at no cost to you for a valid claim.
Resolution options
The remedy is matched to the problem: a defect that can be properly fixed on site is repaired; a unit that materially fails its description is replaced or refunded at your choice where the failure is major; smaller shortfalls can also be settled by agreed partial refund where you’d rather keep the unit. We aim for the outcome you would pick with full information — not the cheapest one for us.
Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Nothing in this policy limits those rights, and we will never direct you to a manufacturer instead of resolving a claim ourselves.
Limitations
- Damage caused by misuse, unauthorised modification, overloading or improper site placement is not covered.
- Consequential site costs (e.g. crane hire arranged independently) are the customer’s responsibility unless agreed in writing.
- Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under the Australian Consumer Law.
